Sure, millions of people like Facebook the website, but is the subject matter interesting enough to revolve an entire blockbuster movie around?
I guess we'll find out with the upcoming movie, The Social Network.
Slated for an October 2010 release, the movie will tell the story of founder Mark Zuckerberg and his website's journey from Harvard dorm room to social networking giant.
Directed by David Fincher (of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button fame), the comedy-drama stars Jesse Eisenberg as Zuckerberg, Justin Timberlake as Sean Parker, and Andrew Garfield as Eduardo Saverin (both of whom also helped found the site).
It's an adaptation of the book The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal, and as the movie poster suggests, "You don't get 500 million friends without making a few enemies."
Wow, sounds very dramatic ... who knew?
Do you think this will make a great movie? Will you see it?
