'SYTYCD' Top 11: Alex Is Praised, But Is His Dance Worth the Hype?

By far the best performance on So You Think You Can Dance last night was the beautiful contemporary dance by Alex Wong and Allison Holker, which was set to Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah" (love that song) and choreographed by Sonya Tayeh.

It's beautiful, right?

But was it really worth all the praise it received?

Judges Adam Shankman and Mia Michaels gave it a standing ovation, while Nigel Lythgoe sat with his head in hands, looking like he was overcome by emotion (or something).

Michaels then gushed:

“I have to say that that is the best, hands-down … piece of work danced on [this] stage anywhere, in the world, up to date.”

Wow. I half expected them to cancel the rest of the season and award Alex the title "America's Favorite Dancer" right then and there!

What did you think about Alex and Allison's performance? Was it the best in SYTYCD history? Or did you have another favorite?
