Victoria Principal has stepped up to help clean up the Gulf oil spill by donating $200,000 to aid efforts.

The actress, best known for her role as Pamela Ewing on Dallas in the 1970s and 1980s, made the donation to two nonprofit organizations -- Oceana and the Natural Resources Defense Council. (Ironically, the wealthy Ewing family's fortune came from oil.)

Kevin Costner has also lent a financial hand, donating millions for development of a machine that could help clean up the spill.

And James Cameron, director of Titanic and Avatar, is lending his expertise to help officials come up with possible solutions. He also offered BP use of use of his "private fleet of deep-dive craft."

But beyond that, we've seen no other reports of other celebs stepping up to offer assistance in the wake of this terrible tragedy. Perhaps some have done so privately, but let's hope news of Principal's generous donation inspires other stars to follow suit.

Are you surprised more celebrities haven't gotten involved to help clean up the Gulf oil spill?
