If you've stopped scratching your head about Lee DeWyze winning American Idol last night, you can keep on scratching about the weird interruption by rejected contestant Ian Benardo while Dane Cook entertained(?) the crowd with a retrospective of Simon's best one-liners, in song.
Was it planned? Was it in bad taste? Or was it a genius move by Benardo because now we're all talking about him instead of DeWyze?
Other Idol moments in performance ...
- The girl power pairing of Alanis Morissette and Crystal Bowersox was a lot of fun, although I can't help but feel a little bit like I did the first time I heard Pearl Jam on Muzak.
- American Idol alum perform. Yawn.
- Paula Abdul's weird turn on the stage (baby reference, really?) was a reminder of how entertaining the original three were and makes me wonder how they're going to make next season work.
What was your favorite part of the grand finale?
