Watts will star in Blonde, based on Joyce Carol Oates' book by the same name (an awesome read, by the way!). Shooting will begin in January, and the film will be produced by Andrew Dominik.
"I want to tell the story of Norma Jeane as a central figure in a fairy-tale; an orphan child lost in the woods of Hollywood, being consumed by that great icon," Dominik told Britain's Telegraph.
Williams of Dawson's Creek fame is set to star as Marilyn in My Week With Marilyn. It's said to portray the time when she filmed The Prince and the Showgirl with Laurence Olivier.
My first thought is that both actresses are too thin to play curvaceous Marilyn. I wonder if they'll have to bulk up for the part?
My second is: Poor Lindsay Lohan. I wonder if the Marilyn-obsessed troublemaker is miffed she didn't get either role.
As for who I think will make a better Marilyn, I'd give it Williams by a hair, because I think she looks more like her, but I like Watts better as an actress.
Who do you think will make a better Marilyn Monroe -- Naomi Watts or Michelle Williams?
