In a recent interview with the national gay and lesbian magazine The Advocate, Sex and the City 2 star Cynthia Nixon opened up about her lesbian relationship, describing her fiancee Christine Marinoni as "basically a short man with boobs."

She also went on to explain that, before Christine, she never felt attracted to a woman before, having been in a 15-year relationship and having two kids with Danny Mozes, an English professor. "A lot of what I love about her is her butchness. I'm not saying I fell in love with her in a sexually neutral way. I love her sexuality -- it's a big part of what I love about her -- but I feel like it was her. It wasn't something in me that was waiting to come out. It was like, This person is undeniable. How can I let this person walk by?"

This is really interesting to me, that it was one person that kind of made it click for her. That it's not necessarily about being "gay" or "not gay." She's just "a woman who fell in love with a woman."

Cynthia and Christine have managed to create their own family unit with Cynthia's kids, who consider Christine their other mom. When the first rumors began spreading after the two began seeing each other romantically in 2004, her publicist urged her to keep it quiet. “He just kept saying, ‘It’s your life, and it’s private, and that’s it.’ And we kept asking, ‘That’s the whole thing? We never move past that? We’re at the playground with the kids, and pictures are taken of us, and we say, 'No, she’s my friend?'”

The two eventually confirmed their relationship and are currently waiting for New York to legalize gay marriage so that they can tie the knot.

Such a great story ... these two look really happy together!
