Photo by david shankboneBetty White on SNL did not disappoint. After all the anticipation and hype leading up to her hosting, the 88-year-old nailed it.
A few highlights:
She started out by thanking Facebook for helping her get the SNL gig, but said she didn't even know what it was at first. " ...now that I do know what it is, it sounds like a huge waste of time. I would never think that people on it are losers, but that's only because I'm polite,"
Of online poking:
"Poking wasn't something you did on a computer, but on a hayride."
In the Delicious Dish segment with Molly Shannon and Ana Gasteyer :
"My muffin hasn't had a cherry since 1939."
There was lots of bawdy humor, perfect comedic timing and an incredible energy by the entire cast -- which included former cast members like Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. Twitter went crazy with "I love Betty White!" Tweets and the like.
The only possible improvement would have been if Betty White came out and sang Alicia Keys' part on Empire State of Mind with Jay Z, who also gave a killer performance and dedicated Forever Young to "the most incredible, Betty White."
