The Caped Crusader is coming back to the big screen in a sequel to 2008's huge Batman hit, The Dark Knight. The film isn't yet titled, but the release date is set for July 12, 2012, and Christopher Nolan will be directing.

Christian Bale will once again be donning the black suit, bat ears, and flowing cape for the upcoming movie. I'm partly convinced that Bale's alter-ego might just be the actual Batman -- he was brilliant in Dark Knight and, in my opinion, none of these other actors can compare to Bale's Batman:

  2. Michael Keaton: I think Keaton was under-appreciated for his role in Batman Returns due to being overshadowed by Jack Nicholson's amazing Joker performance.
  3. Val Kilmer: Finally, a Batman that actually has a six-pack underneath the drawn-on suit muscles.
  4. George Clooney: Yikes. Clooney is the Batman-who-must-not-be-named. Batfans everywhere are still trying to block out his performance in Batman & Robin.

In your opinion, who made the best Batman?
