A website, RestoreStephenBaldwin.org, has a bold request for its visitors: Donate money to help actor Stephen Baldwin pay off his gigantic debt and restore his popularity so he can spread Christianity to the masses.
This is a joke, right?
If you're about to Wikipedia "Stephen Baldwin," we'll save you the trouble: He's the youngest of the Baldwin brothers (Alec, Daniel, and Billy are the others) and best known for his role as William F. Cody in the TV show The Young Riders. He was also on Celebrity Apprentice two years ago ... remember now? Yeah, that guy.
According to the website, Baldwin became a Born Again Christian in 2002, and his conversion hurt his career opportunities and led to him file for bankruptcy in 2009. Thus, the need for donations.
How much does he need? From the website again: "... [he] needs several million dollars to pay all of his creditors but he deserves hundreds of millions for his Job-like faithfulness in the face of relentless loss and persecution."
Well, why didn't you say so in the first place? Let me get my checkbook! Right after I stop laughing.
Maybe I should start my own donation website; given that writing about this guy is really its own form of relentless loss (of valuable time) and persecution, I should be able to rake in the dough too!
Would you donate to restore Stephen Baldwin (I think I know the answer)?
