Siobhan Magnus Gets Kicked Off, Shakira Performs: Our "American Idol" Recap

Brittny Drye

Whew, I thought I was the only one who couldn't stand the screeching that came from Siobhan Magnus week after week on American Idol. The judges consistently raved about her, but Siobhan was voted off last night.

I won't miss her voice, but I will miss that quirky style of hers. Where can I get her nymph outfit, complete with attached butterflies?

As for the "real" singers' performances, Lady Antebellum (love them!) played their award-winning single "Need You Now," and Rascal Flatts performed their obviously not award-winning single "Unstoppable." New band Sons of Sylvia took the stage, and they looked mildly terrified (they're actually a really good band though, I urge people to check out their stuff). Shakira wrapped up the country music night (?) with her new song "Gypsy" while Gary LeVox from Rascal Flatts randomly whispered into the mic along with it. Anyone else find that strange?

So now we're left with the mediocre Aaron Kelly, over-confident Michael Lynche aka Big Mike, heartthrob Casey James (marry me, Casey), Lee DeWyze who I constantly have mixed feelings for, and Crystal Bowersox who I predicted would win it from Day 1.

Next week is Frank Sinatra Week. Whoohoo! Where's my fedora?

Glad to see Siobhan gone? Who did you want to see get the boot?
