Betty White to Host "Saturday Night Live"!

Amy Jo Jones

Ms. Betty White is pleased to announce her marriage to Mr. Young Hottie:

Ladies and gentlemen, if you go to bed early on Saturday nights, then ready your DVRs for what's shaping up to be one of the most awesome Saturday Night Live shows in recent history.

It's now official: Betty White will host NBC's Saturday Night Live on May 8, 2010. Not only is the show bound to be funny with a comedic legend like Betty White, but the special Mother's Day episode will also reunite six former female SNL cast members, most of whom happen to be moms: Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer, and Rachel Dratch.

Betty's joining the cast for this special episode came about because of some very devoted fans who started a Facebook campaign to get her on the show. The Facebook page is titled "Betty White to Host SNL (please?)!" and states:"This is a page to encourage both Betty White AND Saturday Night Live that Betty would be a FANTASTIC choice to host SNL." At last count, the Betty White Facebook page had a whopping 510,516 fans, so something tells me SNL might just pull out all the stops.

Don't forget to tune in!
