Oscar winner Mo'Nique has said she channeled her own sexual abuse at the hands of her brother, Gerald Imes, in order to play an abuser in Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire. Now her brother admits that the actress and comedienne was telling the truth.

Gerald Imes went on the Oprah Winfrey Show and told Oprah that he too had been abused and was using drugs as an 11-year-old. Imes didn't use drugs as an excuse, but he described how the drugs did play a role in his actions.

Like Oprah (see? We're so much alike!), I wondered what good it'd do for Mo'Nique's brother to come forward and admit what he did at this juncture. Imes said he hoped to come together as a family after he stopped denying what had happened 37 years ago.

I can't imagine being in Mo'Nique's position, but I don't think I could ever forgive someone for a crime as heinous as molestation. Especially by a family member. Mo'Nique has yet to comment on Imes's confession.

Do you think Mo'Nique should forgive her brother?
