Jim Carrey, Jenny McCarthy Split, Announce Break-Up on Twitter

The irony is not lost on us that this is Autism Awareness Month, and no other celebrity couple has been so closely associated with the condition. McCarthy's 7-year-old son, Evan, has been diagnosed with autism, and she and Carrey have appeared regularly together at autism events and have been very vocal supporters of the Generation Rescue foundation, which believes that autism is caused by vaccination.

Both celebs, who had been together for five years, tweeted about their break-up yesterday afternoon.

“Jenny and I have just ended our 5yr relationship,” Carrey wrote. “I’m grateful 4 the many blessings we’ve shared and I wish her the very best! S’okay!"

Thirty minutes later, McCarthy followed suit:

“Im so grateful for the years Jim and I had together. I will stay committed to Jane and will always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart,” she wrote.

From their Tweets, it seems like both Carrey and McCarthy are OK with the split ... Now, if only I could get over it!
