Kate Winslet, Sam Mendes

Getting the Academy Award for Best Actress is like getting the kiss of death for your relationship, and with the recent news of a divorce for last year's winner, Kate Winslet (who won for her role in The Reader), it's looking like the trend is continuing. Sniffle. 

The law firm handling the divorce between Kate and her director husband, Sam Mendes, tells Us magazine, "Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year. The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children. They ask that the media respect the privacy of the family."

Some other celebs that been victim to the "Best Actress Curse" are Halle Berry, Charlize Theron, Julia Roberts, and Nicole Kidman.

Guess those boys just can't handle a successful woman. Or the women have turned into crazy, overpowering, success-hungry biatches. Hopefully the curse will skip over this year's winner, Sandra Bullock, because I really do love her and Jesse James together.
