Here's the movie's description, via Lifetime -- and it seems ripped right from the headlines.

"When Chris Watts tearfully pleaded to television cameras for the safe return of his missing pregnant wife Shanann and their two young daughters, dark secrets loomed just beneath the surface. As the story spread, hearts went out to the distraught father and husband, who appeared to lead a charmed life. But days later, after failing a lie detector test, Chris confessed to brutally murdering his family and slowly revealed the horrific details of their deaths. Friends and family were left reeling, looking for answers as his double life and secret affair came to light."

Sean Kleier has been cast as a Chris Watts, and Ashley Williams -- who fans might recognize from How I Met Your Mother -- is set to play Chris' wife, Shan'nan. Rounding out the cast, Grey's Anatomy star Brooke Smith has been cast as FBI agent Tammy Lee.

  • The story behind Watts' case is heartbreaking, and it looks like the Lifetime movie isn't holding back.

It's obviously not a documentary, so we assume they'll take some creative liberties with the story. But being that this was such a devastating case -- and it happened so recently -- we hope that this movie will treat what happened to Watts' family as seriously and sensitively as possible.

  • The movie is set to premiere on January 25 on Lifetime.

Immediately following the movie, Lifetime will air a new documentary called Beyond the Headlines: The Watts Family Tragedy, which will feature new footage from the case, as well as interviews with those who worked on it and some of Shan'nan's close friends.

We're definitely interested to see how this movie portrays such a horrific event. Not much longer until we find out for sure!
