Brianna Williams is living every parent's worst nightmare: the death of her child allegedly at the hands of a man she trusted. According to reports, her 3-year-old suffered from broken ribs, facial trauma, and an infection before going into cardiac arrest several times. Morgan Koepp was pronounced dead after being taken off of life support in the intensive care unit and Williams' boyfriend, Sidney Michael Landers, was arrested on suspicion of child abuse.

On a GoFundMe page originally set up to help cover the toddler's medical bills while she was fighting for her life, a family friend wrote that Sanders took Morgan along with his two children for the day and that Williams wasn't able to reach him by phone. "He finally came home around 8:30 pm and Morgan was swollen and bruised," Ashley Swensrud wrote on GoFundMe.com. "After hours at hospital she was moved to ICU, her heart failed a few times where then they had surgery."

In addition to her extensive injuries, Morgan was diagnosed with necrotizing fasciitis. "A bacteria that eats the flesh. The doctors said she may have had cut in mouth and with trauma to face pushed bacteria deeper into the tissue and blood causing flesh eating bacteria," she wrote. "They cut most of it out and have her stable."

Although this improved Morgan's chances of survival, her body wasn't able to clot like doctors wanted or keep up with the blood loss. “It’s a necrotizing soft tissue infection that opened up when she got hit or punched or whatever she did, and it spread throughout her body,” Morgan's grandfather, Tim Williams told KSAZ.

Morgan was taken off of life support on Wednesday and her family is reeling from the shocking loss. In a raw post written shortly after Morgan's death, Williams shared an open letter to her toddler. "To my beautiful baby girl who taught me so much in these last three years. I saw you fighting and fighting as hard as you could," Williams wrote. "I saw how much pain you were in and I am so sorry you had to endure such a tragedy. Its breaks my heart and to see you laying there fighting so hard for mommy shows me how much you tried and how much you love me."

Because of this senseless tragedy, William knows that she'll never be able to watch her baby grow or have the opportunity to hold her in her arms again. "But I am able to keep going because I know you are now resting in a better place, pain free able to run and play with the rest of the angels," she wrote. "I know I can always find you in my heart and when I close my eyes. Watch over me and give God a hug for me for bringing you home so you aren't suffering anymore. I love you Morgan Faith Koepp."
