Woman Sends Terrifying Notes to Neighbors Saying She Wants to Eat Their Kids

Parents in a Minnesota neighborhood got a somewhat terrifying note about their children in their mailbox recently. A Champlin woman admitted upon police investigation that she sent a letter to the family saying she wanted to taste their "delicious" children.

The parents say they received the first letter in late September, and it consisted of two simple yet frightening sentences regarding their elementary-aged kids:

The children look delicious. May I have a taste?

Dude. Can you even imagine getting that in your mailbox? The parents contacted the police department immediately, and posted the threat to a Champlin community Facebook page, saying, "Opened our mail today to this letter. Obviously my stomach started doing somersaults."

Carrie Pernula, 38, was arrested last week, and could face charges for gross misdemeanor terroristic threats and stalking, but that wasn't before her alleged antics escalated.

Pernula reportedly had magazine subscriptions sent to the family's home, but instead of a name on the address label, there were things like "Tasty Children," according to the Champlin Deputy Police Chief.

Tasty children? What could cause someone to want to threaten kids in such a sadistic way? "Hansel and Gretel" is supposed to be a fairy tale, not something we're supposed to feel fearful of in real life!

Thankfully, the police were able to track the magazine subscriptions to Pernula, whom they say admitted to the threats. She apparently was upset that the children were leaving things in her yard as well as being noisy kids in a neighborhood full of young families.

She hasn't been charged, and has been released by police for the time being. It is believed that she is back in her home, but there are no reports as to whether kids are daring each other to walk by her house without running for their lives.

Seriously, what was this woman thinking? If she really had a huge problem with the kids, why didn't she go talk to the parents like a normal person? There's no excuse for threatening anyone in such a manner, let alone children.
