George Zimmerman Arrested on Domestic Violence & Assault with Weapon Charges

George ZimmermanGeorge Zimmerman has been arrested -- again! The trouble magnet who drew worldwide attention for the shooting of unarmed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin has been arrested in Lake Mary, Florida on charges of aggravated assault with a weapon. There is also a charge of domestic violence.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, this incident did not involved a firearm, so it's unclear what the weapon was. Despite that, 31-year-old Zimmerman was reportedly told by the judge in court this morning that he had until Tuesday to surrender any firearms in his possession.

He has also been ordered to stay out of Volusia County.

This of course isn't Zimmerman's first time at the rodeo. Not only did he stand trial in the shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in a case that drew national attention, but in 2013, Zimmerman's estranged wife, Shellie, called police and reported that Zimmerman had punched her father and threatened her with a gun. She did not press charges.

He was also arrested on charges of aggravated assault, battery and criminal mischief when his girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe, said he pointed a gun at her. She became uncooperative with authorities and charges were dropped.

He has also had three traffic violations since his acquittal.

It must be heartwrenching for Martin's parents every time they see Zimmerman, who was famously acquitted on second-degree murder charges, in the news again. I wonder how all the people who thought he was such a hero feel now. Clearly, this is a troubled man who can't keep on the straight and narrow.

Good to know he's armed and "protecting" the good people of Florida. Sarcasm!
