Pregnant Woman Meets Gruesome Fate After Being Offered Nursery Items

Being pregnant can be one of the most magnificent times of a woman's life -- but it can also be one of the most dangerous. Not only are there physical ailments to worry about, but unfortunately, there's psychos too. There are those women who want a baby so badly that they don't care what they have to do to get one -- even if it means killing a pregnant mom and cutting out her baby. That's tragically what happened to an 8-months pregnant woman in Tamaulipas, Mexico.

Nathaly Cartas Leon, 20, was happily looking forward to her birth in a month when she made friends with 17-year-old Guadalupe Salinas Hernandez on Facebook. When the younger woman offered Leon some items for her baby's nursery, the glowing pregnant mom decided to take her up on it and went to her home.

Only Hernandez didn't have helping on her mind -- she had murder on it. Police say as soon as Leon came through the door, the teen hit over the head, then began stabbing her. Horribly, she then reportedly cut the baby from the womb.

Leon was reported missing, but police only figured out what had happened when Hernandez showed up at a local hospital, saying she had given birth to a stillborn infant.

But doctors quickly concluded that the teen hadn't given birth at all -- and that the baby hadn't been stillborn, but had suffocated inside the womb.

Hernandez reportedly then confessed that she had killed the pregnant mother days earlier. It's unclear why she waited so long to take the baby to the hospital.

Apparently the teen had had an abortion, and ended up regretting the decision ... so she allegedly decided to get another baby.

We've heard this story before and it's one of the most horrific crimes that a woman can perpetrate on another human being. For pregnant women, it can't hurt to be super careful about meeting other women in the final stages of pregnancy.

If a woman you don't know offers you baby goods, be sure to take a friend along, or meet her in a public place. Or better yet, get free and cheap baby items from churches or Goodwill or other places.

Unfortunately, placing ads for free or cheap nursery items is one of the prime ways that psychotic women like this get ahold of unsuspecting pregnant women.

Our hearts go out to Leon's family.
