Dad Who Pleaded for Missing 8-Year-Old Daughter's Return Arrested for Her Murder (VIDEO)

A father who desperately pleaded for his missing daughter's safe return on television has been arrested for killing her -- in the most despicable way humanly possible. Hiawatha Robinson appeared on TV along with other members of missing 8-year-old Hiawayi's family, begging for information that would lead to her return. But three months later, police say it was Robinson who was responsible for his daughter being missing. He is being charged with murdering her while in the process of sexually abusing her.

Hiawayi was found dead behind an abandoned building in Prichard, Alabama, two days after she went missing, say authorities. Now Hiawatha Robinson has been arrested on murder and sodomy charges.

Sodomy charges are usually not detailed in the press, but generally refer to forced oral or anal sex. It's unclear exactly what Hiawayi had to allegedly endure before she died, but police say it killed her.

At the time Robinson pleaded for his daughter's safe return, he stood with his daughter's mom, Yosha Populus, and said:

I've been up for the last 24 hours, I've been up all night searching for her -- ain't had anything to eat, anything to drink, I ain't going to stop until it's over with -- until she's in her home. That's all I want, that's all I ask for.

"This girl means everything to me and her father," Populus told the Fox 10 reporter.

Populus's family say they are shocked it may be Robinson who killed her but are grateful for an arrest. Oddly, Populus's godfather told that she was "praying it wasn't him," which makes you wonder if she had her suspicions.

Police would not say whether they knew if the sexual abuse was ongoing.

I really can't think of a more horrific way for a child to die. If Robinson is found guilty, he deserves the harshest punishment available for that crime. What kind of subhuman would not only do something like this, but also get on camera and pretend to be devastated?
