Couple Accused of Forcing Adopted Daughter to Live in Backyard 'Deep Prison' (VIDEO)

An Arizona couple were charged with mind-boggling abuse against their two adopted children -- but they say it was all for the children's good. The couple, Johann and Kimery Jorg, allegedly inflicted "prison conditions" on their 11- and 13-year-old daughters, including forcing the eldest daughter to live in the backyard for months, wearing nothing but a diaper.

Said Peoria police spokeswoman Amanda Jacinto:

The 13-year-old daughter was put in the backyard in what they call 'deep prison.' She would live in the backyard. She would be forced to wear a diaper or sometimes not even a diaper. They would have bathroom facilities out there that involved a bucket. She would live out of a tent.

As clearly wrong and tortuous as this sounds, the couple say that they were just disciplining her. Part of the reason they were disciplining her? Stealing. And what was she stealing? Food!

The couple also allegedly force-shaved her head and told her she didn't deserve hair.

As disgusting as this alleged treatment is, these poor girls had already been through the ringer -- they were removed from abusive environments with biological parents and placed in foster care with the Jorgs, who then adopted them. Did no one vet this placement? Who was in charge of this adoption? Did the Jorgs skillfully hide this alleged sick parenting so well that no one saw that the girls' adoption was a terrible idea?

So many questions here. These poor girls have so far apparently only experienced betrayal and abuse from adults. I wonder if they will ever learn to trust them.
