Vindictive Neighbor Accused of Bulldozing House Next Door for Bizarre Reason

Think you hate your neighbor? Probably not as much as Ana Maria Moreta Folch. She’s accused of bulldozing the house next door. As in demolish. As in flatten.

According to police, she convinced a heavy equipment operator that she owned the home and wanted it destroyed. Her rouse was so thought out, she presented a key and went to great lengths to prove that no one else actually lived there.

In reality, it belonged to neighbors she couldn’t stand. The reason? Simply that they were unsavory and she thought they may have broken into her car. Mind you, she had no proof, just a sneaking suspicion. So instead of calling the police, she reportedly took matters into her own hands. She even considers it a favor to the neighborhood.

The destroyed home’s owner seems completely perplexed by the situation, insisting they never had a dispute with the woman. Now, I am no stranger to pesky neighbors. I once lived above a bar, which blasted music until the wee hours of the morning. And I once lived below three young post-grads who love to clack around all night in their heels. I’ve even lived near a couple of shady characters that inspired me to double check my bolt every night. All that is to say, so what if someone is unsavory. That doesn’t give you a right to destroy their property or their home.

For now, Moreta Folch has been released on $10,000 bail. As for her now homeless neighbors, let’s just hope they find a more welcoming street next time.

Have you ever had a conflict with a neighbor? How did you handle it?
