Skeletal Remains Found in Search for Missing Woman Did Not Belong to Her

Heather ElvisHeather Elvis, a beautiful, vibrant model and student, has been missing from her home near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina since December 17 around 2:30 a.m. The young woman, who was last seen after being dropped off from a date, disappeared in the wee hours of the morning and hasn't been seen since.

Authorities say her date isn't a suspect, but she was last seen being dropped off outside her apartment.

For the past few weeks, searches have been ongoing and one even turned up the remains of someone, but it wasn't Heather. Her father, Terry, gave a heartbreaking plea to Fox News:

It’s a living nightmare. I can't beg enough for information. If you've seen anything, if you've heard anything, if you have a friend, family member, or acquaintance who acted differently on that day, I beg you to come forward. Any information -- as trivial as it may seem -- helps us. This could be anybody's child.

The family used Facebook to describe Christmas and New Year's without their beloved daughter. It's hard to even begin to imagine what they are going through.

Last week, during the search for Elvis, they found the skeletal remains of a male in his 20s. Some speculated that they could have been the remains of 17-year-old Brittanee Drexel, who was last seen in 2009. Drexel, a high school junior from the Rochester area, went with friends and without her mother's permission to Myrtle Beach on April 23, 2009. Authorities say they believe Drexel is dead, but no search has found her.

Two girls missing from the same area? Seems pretty terrifying. My heart goes out to these poor families, and I hope they can find comfort and the closure they need in their lives. It's just so sad.

A reward is being offered for any information leading to Heather Elvis. Anyone with information on the case is urged to call investigators at 843-915-TIPS.

What would you do in her parents' shoes?
