Moms Who Idolized Singer Admit Helping Him Sexually Abuse Babies (VIDEO)

Ian WatkinsThink of the rock star you idolize the most. Someone who really makes you scream, tear your hair out, and almost faint. Justin Bieber? (Let's hope not.) Mick Jagger? Now ask yourself if you would let that star sexually assault your child for the "honor" of hanging out with him. The vast majority of people would be sickened by the very idea and certainly never buy that guy's albums again! But others, well, others are very, very twisted.

A despicable case in South Wales has been showing just how far some fans would go for their idol, the lead singer of a group called Lostprophets. The frontman, Ian Watkins, has pleaded guilty to being a "determined and committed pedophile." Even worse? There were female fans -- mothers -- who admitting abusing or letting Watkins abuse their babies to prove their "love" for him.

Watkins has pleaded guilty to a series of "depraved" acts against babies, including attempted rape. Much of the evidence comes from text messages. In one, he said to a female fan:

If you belong to me, so does your baby.

The text messages also reportedly showed one where Watkins sent a picture of the woman's baby to her and instructed her to let the child know that she "was not loved." In others, he reportedly bragged that he would teach the babies how to do drugs.

Watkins had previously furiously denied all charges, blaming the evidence found on his laptop and cellphone as part of a campaign by an obsessed fan to destroy him. But now he has pleaded guilty to almost all of the charges against him. Said the lead detective:

There is no doubt in my mind that Ian Watkins exploited his celebrity status in order to abuse young children.

This is pretty unfathomable. Could anyone really be so obsessed with a rock star that they'd let him abuse their children? In all honesty, it doesn't surprise me that much. There are women who let this happen because they are "in love" with some perverted man. And have you seen the videos of young girls who are so in love with Justin Bieber, they excuse him for even punching his grandmother? (Which he never did, they were just told that.)

Some people have no self-esteem, just an empty void inside, and they hope a rock star can somehow fill it. And unfortunately some of these people have babies.

Do you think obsession with celebrity is dangerous?
