Latest Madeleine McCann Case Developments Renew Our Hopes She'll Be Found Alive

madeleine mccann 10 years oldIt's been six years since then-3-year-old Madeleine McCann went missing, but that hasn't stopped authorities from looking for her. In fact, earlier this summer, the case was reopened, and Scotland Yard appeared to be taking an especially aggressive approach to finding the missing child, who would be 10 years old now. They've even now joined forces with Portugal police, assembling a new team, which will make inquires and question witnesses on behalf of Scotland Yard. It definitely piques our interest about what sort of information they've come across recently that has convinced them to amp up the investigation.

At the very least, it seems to have to do with the fact that over the past two years, they have found "a wealth of new witnesses and leads involving 38 suspects," according to The Mirror. And one of the new compelling voices is a 73-year-old cab driver.

The cab driver thinks he may have picked up Madeleine and at least two men and one woman the night after she disappeared. Whoa. Let's hope he can shed some light on what may have happened ... and help lead the investigators to her whereabouts.

Knowing witnesses like this cab driver and others may be able to divulge telling details is HUGE. I feel like the McCanns and the public can also take heart in the fact that Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood said that over the last two years, his review has shown "there is no clear, definitive proof that Madeleine is dead." Therefore it only makes sense that U.K. and Portuguese forces would unite to try to do everything in their power to find her. From what we know, it sounds like they've already got a great start ... Fingers crossed these promising leads bring Madeleine home sooner rather than later.
