35-Year-Old Grandmother Arrested After Toddler Fatally Shoots Himself

grandmotherA 35-year-old grandmother (yes, a 35-year-old grandmother) has been arrested in Yuma, Arizona after her grandson, 3, fatally shot himself with her loaded gun. It's unclear how it happened, exactly -- was she trying to wrangle the gun away from him when it went off? Or did he just pick it up and pull the trigger? -- but regardless, Rachel Spry is going to be held accountable for the death of this beautiful little boy.

According to CBS 13, Spry faces charges of manslaughter, misconduct involving a weapon, and for being in possession of dangerous drugs. It's unknown where the boy's mother was or if she was even a part of his life.

The story is disturbing on so many levels, but it's exacerbated by the fact that Rachel's LinkedIn profile says she's the "boss" at "gangsta". She summarizes her professional skills as "I just really need real help im will relocate ..." Under skills she lists social media and rap, among other things.

Her Twitter account is just as discouraging ... a day before her grandson shot himself with her alleged gun, she tweeted: "So I need a new life." The day before that she shared: "i really hope if there is something going on my kids are here an people would at least really let me know," which is disturbingly cryptic and unsettling.

I wouldn't go as far as to say there was any writing on the wall, but it doesn't sound like Rachel was especially happy with the way things were going. Tragically, her alleged negligence didn't only affect her life -- it took her grandson's.

If Rachel had any more kids in her home, hopefully they're now in a safe place.
