Mom Arrested for Slipping Drugs to Jailed Son in One Big, Horrifying Kiss

mom son oxycodone kissIn a way, you could think of what 54-year-old Kimberly Margeson did while visiting her 30-year-old son William Partridge in jail in upstate New York as an updated version of that trick they used to do in old black and white movies  -- you know, when a crook's wife or kid or partner in crime would bake a file into a cake and bring it during visiting hours? Nowadays, of course, breaking out of prison takes a lot more simply sawing through some iron bars whenever the guard falls asleep on the job -- and I'm not sure they even let visitors bring things like cake to inmates. But certain gifts and/or interactions will always be allowed, I suppose ... such as a kiss between a mother and son. Even a disturbingly deep kiss ...

I can only assume that any armed guards in the room couldn't help but look away (far, far away) when they saw Margeson leaning in to plant a big wet one on Partridge's lips. I can't say I blame them. But maybe if they were paying closer attention, they would have noticed the mother slipping her son some Oxycodone pills along with her tongue.

At this point, police won't say how many pills were transferred or how they were discovered, finally, just that Margeson pleaded not guilty to charges of "criminal sale of a controlled substance and promoting prison contraband" and is free after posting bail. Partridge "remains in jail on an unrelated felony weapon possession charge."

This is a gross story, yes, but I hope the gross factor isn't the only thing people remember, because more than anything else, this is a sad story. A very sad story. Personally, I doubt this mom was trying to sneak her son enough prescription painkillers for him to sell to other prisoners. (Whose mouth is that big?!) Partridge is probably addicted to painkillers, an addiction which probably started (as so many do) with a significant amount of pain. He's probably in withdrawal, not to mention so miserably uncomfortable in the first place that his mom was literally just trying to bring him some medicine.

Do you think this mom deserves to go to jail for slipping her son drugs?
