Kerri Dalton, 29, was shopping with her baby at a Bed, Bath & Beyond in Middletown, New Jersey on Thursday when a stranger approached her and stabbed her 20 times, puncturing both of her lungs. The baby was reportedly unharmed, but Dalton was Medevaced to Jersey Shore Medical Center, where she remains in stable condition. The suspect, 19-year-old Tyrik Haynes, is currently being held on $1 million bail and is being accused of attempted murder. And now, information regarding a crime Haynes may have committed involving a cat around Christmastime has come forth. Needless to say, it's extremely disturbing.

It's being reported that Haynes was previously accused of setting a cat on fire. Allegedly, the cat was purchased online, and Haynes used matches and aerosol to light it on fire. The cat reportedly died on Christmas Eve in the woods, and Haynes was charged with animal cruelty.

I really don't know what's going on anymore. I'm hoping the reason that, every day, we hear about horrific crimes is because we're so in touch now. Otherwise, the only other thing that makes sense is that everyone has gone insane. Do moms, or anyone for that matter, need to worry about leaving their homes at 4:00 in the afternoon? This woman was at Bed, Bath & Beyond, for chrissake. I'm sure the thought of something awful like this happening never even crossed her mind.

I am against guns and would like to see restrictions on them, but when you hear stories like this, it makes you think, "Will that really make a difference?" Or "Should we ban knives next?" (Cue gun debate in 5 ... 4 ...) I certainly think stricter rules on guns mean less accidents and, dear god hopefully, mass shootings, but clearly it's not going to fix everything. Case in point: Kerri Dalton.

I guess what's next is tackling the mental health industry, because only a truly sick person who is in serious need of help would do something like this.

What do you think would stop all the violence?
