It's been a couple of years since this mom's son was at the center of controversy for daring to defy gender lines when it comes to fashion. And it's quite clear she's in full agreement with letting her now-6-year-old choose how he expresses himself -- regardless of any backlash that might come his way. Megan Fox is speaking out about letting her son wear dresses, and why she wants her boy to be confident no matter what.

  • The mom of three recently made an appearance on 'The Talk,' where she opened up about her family life.

Megan and her husband, Beverly Hills, 90210 star Brian Austin Green, have three sons together: Noah, 6, Bodhi, 5, and Journey, 3. Brian also has a 17-year-old son, Kassius, with his former 90210 costar, Vanessa Marcil.

  • She revealed her son Noah still wears dresses, a choice she fully supports.

Back in 2017, Megan sparked outrage after sharing this rare family photo with Noah, then 4, wearing an Elsa dress. A number of people responded to the celeb mom's Instagram post, expressing how wrong they thought such a sight was.

"Your boy MUST be a MAN, what a shameful time to grow up," wrote a critic.

"Confusing the little boy mind from an early age that they can't decide what they want of their own. Transgender in the process. Selfish people!" mentioned another.
  • "Sometimes, he'll dress himself and he likes to wear dresses, sometimes," Megan Fox told the ladies of 'The Talk.'

"And I send him to a really liberal, hippy school, but even there -- here in California -- he still has little boys going, 'Boys don't wear dresses,' or 'Boys don't wear pink,'" she added about her son being laughed at by some of his peers in school.

  • Her 6-year-old has faced backlash in school from other kids because of his choice, and Megan is doing her best to keep him confident.

"So we're going through that now, where I'm trying to teach him to be confident no matter what anyone else says," she confessed.

"He just wore one two days ago to school, and he came home and I was like, 'How was it? Did any of the friends at school have anything to say?' And he was like, 'Well, all the boys laughed when I came in, but I don't care, I love dresses too much."

  • Brian Austin Green has also expressed his support of letting his son dress in whatever makes him feel comfortable.

"I've heard from some people that they don't agree with him wearing dresses. To them I say, I don't care. He's 4 and if he wants to wear it, then he wears it," Brian Austin Green once explained about supporting his son wearing dresses during a 2017 interview with Hollywood Pipeline.

"And it's dresses or goggles or slippers or whatever. It's his life, they're not my clothes … I feel like at 4, at 5, that's a time when he should be having fun. He's not harming anyone wearing a dress. So if he wants to wear a dress, good on him."
