Custody issues are never easy, regardless of how much money you have in the bank. According to Us Weekly, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have made a change to the custody terms of their two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, who are 13 and 12 years old, respectively. The source who talked to Us confirmed that Kevin will now have 70% custody of the two boys, while Britney will only have 30% unsupervised custody. This is a fairly big change from their previous agreement of 50/50 custody, though they have reportedly not followed that agreement since August of 2018.

  • Apparently the two of them wanted to see how the 70/30 split worked before making it official.

But as of August 28, the terms are legal, per their new custody agreement.

This photo of Britney and her boys was taken at Disneyland in early August, and so many fans were shocked by just how grown up the boys look.

  • Back in May, it was reported that Kevin didn't want Britney to have additional visitation with her sons after she entered a mental treatment facility.

Federline reportedly wanted to wait until Britney was "more stable," and was only allowing visitation with the kids "at his discretion."

  • Britney checked out of the treatment facility in late April.

She's been making fitness a priority and has been spending a lot of time with her boyfriend, Sam Asghari, and she seems to be much healthier and happier as of late.

  • Fans are, of course, weighing in on the new agreement, and some think Kevin is just out for more cash.

Back in September of last year, Britney agreed to pay Kevin "thousands more" per month in child support on top of the $20,000 she was already reportedly paying him, so it's understandable for people to question his intentions.

  • Others seem to think he only has the boys' welfare in mind.

  • And then there are those who feel bad for Britney and are coming to her defense.

  • Whatever is truly going on behind the scenes, let's just hope the judge made the right decision.

Preston and Jayden's happiness and well-being is what truly matters here. Britney clearly loves her boys more than anything in the world, and it must be so difficult to have a reduction in the amount of time she's able to see them. Add having your custody battle play out publicly on top of that? That's honestly more than any mom should have to contend with.

We'll keep pulling for Britney in the hopes that she continues to move forward on a healthier road and put the past behind her. She's more than proven herself to be someone who is able to persevere.
