Talking about a pregnancy loss is never easy, which is why we're applauding this celeb mom for shining a light on such a dark and emotional subject. Pink is opening up about having a miscarriage at 17 and how it changed her life forever.

  • In a new interview with USA Today, Pink revealed her pregnancy loss and how it inspired a song on her upcoming album Hurts 2B Human.

In her song "Happy," Pink sings about how her body has hated her since she was 17 -- and the feeling is mutual. "Since I was 17, I've always hated my body/and it feels like my body's hated me," the celeb mom sings in the song.

  • Now, she's opening up about the meaning of these lyrics, and it all leads back to the pregnancy she lost as a teenager.

Pink told USA Today she felt like her body failed her because of her miscarriage. "The reason I said (that) is because I've always had this very tomboy, very strong gymnast body, but actually at 17 I had a miscarriage. And I was going to have that child," she mentioned about her miscarriage during the interview.

"But when that happens to a woman or a young girl, you feel like your body hates you and like your body is broken, and it's not doing what it's supposed to do. I've had several miscarriages since, so I think it's important to talk about what you're ashamed of, who you really are and the painful [expletive]. I've always written that way."

  • Pink sharing her story has prompted others to share theirs.

In fact, the general reaction to Pink opening up about her miscarriages is for other women to share their own stories. And as sad as it is that so many can relate to her experience, it's kind of beautiful to see people standing with one another that can be so healing.

  • Others simply wanted to offer their support.

Pink has never held back when it comes to other topics like this, so it's no surprise that she opened up about her miscarriage -- even though it's obviously not the happiest thing in the world to talk about.

But who knows who she may have helped with her honesty?

  • Good for Pink for opening up about something so important.

It definitely couldn't have been easy, but the more women talk about miscarriages and infertility, the fewer of us there will be who feel alone in our struggles.

    We're rooting for her!
