Amy Schumer Reveals the Pregnancy Struggles She Endured in New Video

In case no one reiterated this enough, pregnancy is hard. Sure, there are days (weeks even) when an expectant mom can feel on cloud nine, but most times, there's pain, discomfort, and nausea -- especially if you have a condition like hyperemesis gravidarum. Amy Schumer is revealing her pregnancy struggles in a new compilation video that has fans of the new mom shining a light on something many moms endure while expecting.
In a promo for her comedy special Growing, Amy reveals the severe nausea she endured while pregnant.
Yeah, that's a lot of puking.
Amy and her hubby, Chris Fischer, welcomed their son, Gene Atwell, on May 5. The adorable little boy is the first child for the comedian and her guy who's just as precious as he wants to be.
Fans of the celeb mom are praising her for shining a light on the hardships that can come with pregnancy.
There are things no one tells you about pregnancy and birth, and nonstop vomiting is one of them. Thankfully, not everyone has to go through this, but boy do we feel horrible for those expectant mamas who have to endure what has to feel like agony.
At the very least, Amy Schumer's post reminds moms going through it that they aren't alone -- and that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
During her pregnancy, Amy revealed she had hyperemesis gravidarum that caused major puking and landed her in the hospital.
After announcing her pregnancy in October, Amy revealed a month later she was hospitalized for her hyperemesis gravidarum. The American Pregnancy Association notes hyperemesis gravidarum is "a condition characterized by severe nausea, vomiting, weight loss, and electrolyte disturbance." Poor Amy was so sick throughout her pregnancy and had no problem sharing her journey for all to see online.
She's since made it to the other side and is enjoying life with her family.
We're so thankful Amy is no longer puking her guts out and can soak in every minute with baby Gene. We love her honesty and are thankful for her sharing her journey.
