Bode Miller's Wife Posts Pic of Her 19-Month-Old Daughter After She Drowned
It's been two months since Bode Miller's toddler daughter drowned in a pool. News of their tragic loss sent shock waves with many seeking to comfort the Olympian ski racer and his wife and others criticizing the grieving parents for trying to raise pool safety awareness. And now, Bode's wife, Morgan Beck Miller, is sharing a photo of their 19-month-old after she drowned that's truly heartbreaking to see.
Morgan Beck Miller took to Instagram to share a distressing photo of her dear Emeline Grier after she drowned in a neighbor's pool.
"I wish I could have one more day to hold you, but until that day comes, continue to work through me and give me the strength to bring awareness, my love," she writes in her Instagram post. "I told you as I held you in this moment that you could still change the world, you could still move mountains. Every step we take forward is because of you and Levi. Your footprint will forever be left on this world. I love you, My baby girl."
Morgan and Bode's toddler daughter died in early June after wandering into a neighbor's pool her family was visiting. "They were at a neighbor's house, talking to the neighbors inside, and somehow the little girl made her way to the backyard pool," Steve Concialdi, the Orange County Fire Authority captain, told People about the accident.
"She was only missing for just a short amount of time and Mom turned and was looking for her and didn't see her right next to her. Mom went straight to the backyard to where the pool was. The child was in the pool. The mom pulled out the little girl and they started CPR immediately. Unfortunately, there was no isolation or safety gate that separated the house from the pool."
In addition to their sweet Emeline, the Millers have a 3-year-old son named Nash and are expecting another child later this fall. Bode also has two children, son Samuel, 5, and daughter Neesyn, 10, from a previous relationship.
And raise more awareness about drowning prevention.
Sadly, drowning is the leading cause of death among children ages 1 to 4.
