A number of celeb moms have opened up about breastfeeding and all the joys that come with it without shame. But sadly, they still do get ridiculed, side-eyed, and chastised for something that shouldn't really be a big deal -- especially since it's, ya know, 2018. Welp, Michael Phelps's wife caught hell for pumping breast milk at her hubby's gala. And after trying to defend herself, folks are still coming for her in the craziest way.

Nicole Phelps took to Instagram to recount her night at her hubby's gala benefiting his foundation, and the need to pump breast milk.

"I originally posted this photo to my story ... after receiving so many comments, I felt it necessary to actually make a post of it. Motherhood is one of the most incredible experiences and being able to breastfeed is a gift." the celeb breastfeeding mom writes in her Instagram post.

Michael and Nicole have two sons: 2-year-old Boomer, and 3-month-old Beckett Richard.

"This was the longest stretch of time I was without Beckett since he was born," she explains.-placeholder

"This was the longest stretch of time I was without Beckett since he was born," she explains.

"I knew he needed milk OFTEN and thankfully I had a milk runner to get him more. I stepped away from our foundation gala to take a moment and pump -- hands free -- thankful I could sit with my back to the room we were in and get it done," Nicole Phelps mentions in her post.

She continues:

"Some won't agree with where I did this and even worse if I was sitting there with Beckett nursing people might judge me. But breastfeeding is NATURAL, I have to admit there were times at the Olympics I was feeding Boomer in the stands. I want it to be known women don't have to hide in a bathroom to take a moment to provide our babies with food. We should be able to, without judgment nurse/pump (easier with a wireless pump) anywhere we’re comfortable... bc we all know you’re not going to 'let down' if you’re not relaxed!! #normalizebreastfeeding #milkmaker #breastfeeding #pumping"

Nicole's need to do what a mama needs to do is relatable on a spiritual level.

Um, kudos for having a "milk runner"!

But folks aren't here for pumping in public and are letting this mom have it.-placeholder

And they need to calm the eff down.

Nicole committed no crime -- especially at her man's event -- so let's get a grip and not berate a mom for trying to keep up with her child's breastfeeding schedule.
