By now, you've probably heard that Kate Gosselin caught heat for her "controversial" Halloween photo, as son Collin, who reportedly has special needs, wasn't present -- sparking rumors he's still away. And if you thought "fans" were the only ones who took issue with this pic, think again. In a new update that could leave you feeling some kind of way, rumors are swirling that Jon Gosselin "broke down and cried" at not seeing Collin with his family on Halloween.

A "source" close to the 40-year-old dad claims Jon is distraught that Kate still has Collin in a facility to help him deal with his undisclosed special needs and has been frustrated with how she's handling things -- including keeping Collin away on Halloween.

"The way Kate is handling things with Collin breaks Jon's heart but he has no say," the Gosselin insider tells exclusively.

The source continues:

"She controls everything, it's her way or the highway when it comes to the kids, including Collin. When he saw that Kate left Collin out of Halloween, that his son was missing yet another family celebration, Jon broke down and cried. He hates that she's doing this to Collin and feels so helpless to stop her. He's praying that the judge will side with him at their next custody hearing."

Jon's reported unnamed pal also gave an update about his life and employment endeavors in efforts to "get his kids back."

"He's totally overhauled his life, he's even back working a regular job again," the source tells "He's an I.T. administrator, it's a good stable job with decent pay. He still loves to DJ and he takes gigs whenever he can, but he's got a regular job now too because he knows that's what he has to do to get his kids back. He's really hopeful that this well help him get more time with his kids."

One can only hope things get better for this family of 10. (Jon and Kate have eight children: twins Madelyn and Cara, 16; and sextuplets Aaden; Alexis; Collin; Hannah; Joel; and Leah, 13.)

Crossing fingers Jon and Kate can find some amicable way to co-parent their children -- and that Collin is doing okay.
