With all the chaos and controversy surrounding Jon and Kate Gosselin and their family, we'll happily celebrate any good news that comes their way. Rumor has it 13-year-old Collin Gosselin is "thriving" in his away facility as he learns to navigate life with his "special needs" that, hopefully, means he'll be heading home sooner than later.

The Kate Plus 8 reality star made waves in 2016 Kate admitted she sent Collin away to a facility to help with him with his undisclosed special needs.

"Collin has special needs," the celeb mom told People while describing her agonizing decision.

"[There's] a fairly fluid diagnosis of what those needs are, but he needs to learn certain strategies to help him deal with things. This has been a struggle we've had for a very long time, and it's one I've dealt with on my own. I've felt very alone in this. By the same token, it's not something that has only impacted me or him – our entire family has been impacted."

Fast-forward a year and change and it appears that now 13-year-old Collin is doing well.

"Kate decided to send him to a facility, because she thought it was best for him," a "source" close to Kate tells "Now it seems that Collin is flourishing, and he's responding very well to one-on-one instruction. He definitely finds it easier to function and cope better without all the chaos that his home life entails."
