The sooner Twitter and other social media outlets invest in a**hole repellent, the better off humanity will be. News that Gabrielle Union suffered eight or nine miscarriages with hubby Dwyane Wade is beyond devastating. But rather than offer condolences and support, the hideous individuals of the world -- with questionable home training -- are using Gabrielle's revelation to poke fun and throw shade.

"I have had eight or nine miscarriages," Union mentions in her book, We're Going to Need More Wine, according to People. "For three years, my body has been a prisoner of trying to get pregnant -- I've either been about to go into an IVF cycle, in the middle of an IVF cycle, or coming out of an IVF cycle."

Gabrielle and her husband Dwyane Wade have been married since 2014, and together they raise his nephew, Dahveon, 16, and his sons Zion, 10, and Zaire, 15. (Dwyane's son Xavier, 3, lives with the child's mother.)

  • And, of course, the wonderful people of the Internet chimed in, "gently" reminding Gabrielle she's getting older.

  • Others felt led by the spirit of f*ckery to try and slut-shame Gabrielle ... because that's what you do when a woman reveals something horrific.

  • Others brought up Jesus.

(Ma'am, what did Gabrielle do to God??)

  • ... and expressed how the sight of Gabrielle and Dwyane looking happy on social media is bothersome.

God forbid a couple enduring fertility issues tries to keep it together!

  • Thankfully, the Internet isn't entirely a horrible place, as many came to Gabrielle's defense.

  • Though the rest of Gabrielle's story remains unwritten, the proud stepmom is shining a light on such an emotional subject -- and we love her for it.

"For so many women, and not just women in the spotlight, people feel very entitled to know, 'Do you want kids?'" Union tells People.

"A lot of people, especially people that have fertility issues, just say 'no' because that's a lot easier than being honest about whatever is actually going on. People mean so well, but they have no idea the harm or frustration it can cause."
