Now that Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan are officially divorced, next they have to figure out how to split their time with 6-year-old daughter Everly -- and apparently, they're calling in the big guns. Channing has requested a counselor to help with co-parenting and creating a plan, and from the way their current situation is working out, it sounds like it's the best choice for them.

According to the court documents, Channing and Jenna's busy schedules have made it impossible for them to come to a custody agreement on their own.-placeholder

According to the court documents, Channing and Jenna's busy schedules have made it impossible for them to come to a custody agreement on their own.

The documents, obtained by Entertainment Tonight, sound like Channing and Jenna are looking to share time equally.

"Due to our professions, our schedules are constantly changing, and flexibility is needed to ensure that we are both able to work and be able to have equal time with Everly," Tatum said in the docs. "We have had difficulty navigating these accommodations without assistance, which has led to both confusion and conflict."

It appears he wants them both to be able to travel with Everly without getting permission from the other parent -- unless they're going outside of the country, in which case permission is needed. He also made a few other requests: for both of them to be able to FaceTime with Everly every day, be able to take her out of school five days per year each for special occasions and travel, and alternate or equally divide holidays. They also cannot use Everly's name and likeness for anything that's for profit without getting permission first.

This all sounds pretty reasonable, and hopefully, he and Jenna will be able to get the help they need to come to an agreement that everyone is happy with.

These commenters are right. It's totally OK to know that they aren't going to reach an agreement on their own and ask for help -- that's what the counselors are there for. Good for them for putting Everly first like this!

Here's hoping they're able to work something out.

It can't be easy for Channing and Jenna to figure things out, but it does seem like they're both better off apart than together -- and that means that Everly is, too.

We're rooting for these two. We know they can make it work!
