John Legend Says Fertility Struggles With Chrissy Teigen Affected His Marriage ... for the Better

The estimated one in eight couples who struggle with getting pregnant know all too well that infertility is a very real and emotional experience. It can also be a painful journey that challenges the strongest of relationships, which is why we're applauding John Legend's willingness to discuss his fertility struggles with wife Chrissy Teigen and how it brought the lovable pair closer together.

  • The Grammy-winning singer recently opened up to "Cosmopolitan" magazine about the challenges of trying to conceive naturally.

    Chrissy and John are proud parents to their adorable daughter, 1-year-old Luna Simone.

  • "You want to feel like everything's working properly and want everything to be perfect, but sometimes it's not."

    "I wouldn't say we can't conceive naturally, but I would say that it's enough of a challenge where it felt like we needed help. We're lucky that we're living in an age where we can conceive in other ways. [IVF] brought us Luna and hopefully it will bring us a few more awesome kids, too."

  • Hoping to expand his family in the near future, John believes the setbacks he and Chrissy faced have only made them stronger.

    "Having a baby is a big challenge for a couple, and going through that together strengthens your bond, because if you make it through [having a child], you know you can make it through anything," Legend tells Cosmopolitan.
