Actors Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder are expecting their first child together and they couldn't be more thrilled. The couple, who married in April 2015, plan to cherish the baby's first 30 days of life in the most, uh, idealistic way

  • In a new interview, Nikki said she and her husband will not be accepting visitors for a month and their phones will be off.

"We'll take the baby's first month for ourselves," she told Fit Pregnancy and Baby magazine. "After the baby arrives, we're doing one month of silence. Just the three of us, no visitors, and we’re turning off our phones too, so there's no expectation for us to communicate."

She didn't note whether or not family was on the banned list, too.

  • Reed went on to say she doesn't want to feel pressured to constantly send out health updates and photos when the baby first arrives.

  • "You don't get those first 30 days back, and we want to be fully present," she told the mag.

  • The couple also decided to wait to find out the sex of their baby.

"It's the greatest and only true surprise of your life," Reed explained to Fit Preganancy and Baby

  • We're not 100 percent sure these two know just how great having some backup can be...

... but we wish them all the luck with their social experiement!
