Since Lauren Conrad welcomed her first LO with husband William Tell on July 5, fans of the former Hills star have been waiting oh-so patiently for a glimpse at her son William "Liam" James. Well, it's finally here: LC appears on the cover of the latest issue of People, debuting photos of her absolutely adorable baby boy while sharing details about giving birth and motherhood (so far). Ugh, we are so here for this!

  • "Before the delivery, I felt like I was getting ready for a blind date," Conrad told the magazine.

"We considered doing the 4D ultrasound but then decided to wait," she explained. "I just remember thinking he was so cute -- and I was surprised by how tiny he was. I was convinced I was having a giant baby, to the point where I didn't even buy newborn clothes -- in my head, he was 9 lbs." In actuality, Liam was born weighing 6 lbs, 14 oz.

  • One thing Conrad says she didn't want to be a surprise was the baby's gender.

"I don't really love surprises," she explained to People. "I like to have all the information. And I was sharing my body with someone -- so I wanted to know as much as possible about him."

She went on to say that she was over the moon to learn she was having a son, sharing: "I always hoped I would have a boy. Boys are so fun. I was a tomboy, and I always play best with boys. When we found out, I was so excited."

  • But as excited as she may have been, she was also fairly private during her pregnancy.

Sure, she shared a couple of bump shots on Insta and did a photo shoot for Parents and Fit Pregnancy. But unlike her more outspoken former costars Heidi (Montag) Pratt and Whitney Port, LC was rather tight-lipped about her experience.

Now that baby Liam is here, the new mom is opening up about what home life and raising her LO will look like. "I want to be strong and teach him to respect women. The mother-son relationship is so important," she told People. "And I'm just excited to play again! I can't wait to break out the finger paints. And I'm such a Disney nerd, so I get to watch those movies with someone who is seeing them for the first time." Aww!

  • At the same time, it sounds like LC has been able to enjoy being present since her son's arrival.

"His last nighttime feeding is right around when the sun comes up, so I sit and feed him and watch the sun rise," she explained to the magazine. "He's funny to watch -- he makes really funny little expressions. I'm already stressing out because I want him to stay this tiny, and I know he won't. So I'm just trying to enjoy how itty-bitty he is."

Too cute. Congrats again to this beautiful family of three!
