Every time we see Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck out and about, smiling, laughing, hanging with their kids (Violet, 11, Seraphina, 8, and Samuel, 5), we can't help but wonder if the pair is reuniting. But the truth is that the couple, who filed for divorce in April, makes a pretty amazing concerted effort to actively co-parent for their kids. In fact, Garner and Affleck recently jetted to the Bahamas with their kiddos for a luxe vacay, according to Us.

The magazine's insider insists that the couple isn't reuniting. "Jen feels it is most beneficial for the kids to have their father present," the source said. So, that means getting accommodations that allow for the family to be together when they vacation. It may also mean going to church together on Sundays in LA, something we've seen copious paparazzi shots of.

Affleck was recently shooting a film, so a source close to the actor tells Us that the Bahamas trip was "a great opportunity to keep the norm going for the kids. Jen will always do whatever it takes to provide the best arrangements for them that she can."

This definitely lines up with what Garner herself told Vanity Fair in March 2016: "The main thing is these kids -- and we're completely in line with what we hope for them. Sure, I lost the dream of dancing with my husband at my daughter's wedding. But you should see their faces when he walks through the door. And if you see your kids love someone so purely and wholly, then you're going to be friends with that person."

That's a beyond admirable way of looking at it. Of course being friends and going so far as to vacation together isn't the right move for all divorcing parents -- everyone's situation is different -- but the heartfelt way Garner and Affleck have figured out how to make it work for them must be inspiring to some couples who are trying to navigate the uncharted waters of splitting up.

Seeing how beautifully Garner and Affleck are co-parenting proves you don't necessarily have to "stay together for the kids" anymore -- but continuing to spend time together, as a family, couldn't hurt.
