Chrissy Teigen Opens Up About a Second Baby & Why She Still Isn't Scared About PPD

Before going public with her postpartum depression in an essay for Glamour, Chrissy Teigen had already won our hearts with her no-holds-barred realness. The model, entertainer, cookbook author, and mama of 1-year-old Luna truly never fails to tell it like it is, whether she's talking about how much help she needs to get ready for a red carpet event or her sex life with husband John Legend. Now, in Marie Claire's July 2017 issue, Chrissy discussed having more kids and potentially experiencing PPD again.

"I would definitely adopt or have foster children," Chrissy shared with Marie Claire. "But I loved being pregnant. Maybe I should be scared [of having PPD again], but I don't know. It couldn't be any worse than it was -- could it?"

Research published in the Primary Care Companion to the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry notes that if you had one episode of postpartum depression, your risk of experiencing it again after a subsequent pregnancy is 50 percent. But that said, and even if you're fully armed with stats and are clued in on risk factors, no one knows for sure exactly how a pregnancy and postpartum experience -- whether it's your first, second, etc. -- will play out.
