After a good six months of doing her best to stick with it, Kristin Cavallari has quit breastfeeding her son, Camden, simply because she just couldn't take the hassle anymore.

Shortly after her baby's birth, Kristen credited breastfeeding with being able to shed her baby weight quickly and effectively. Now, she's totally had it, so she's done offering the boob for good.

Of her decision to stop breastfeeding, Kristin told Hollywood Life, "It was the hardest part of the whole thing and no one tells you that. I was a slave to pumping."

Can I get an amen -- and also a round of applause for her honesty?

I mean, she's no dummy, and she has to know that she's probably going to receive more than her fair share of criticism from breastfeeding advocates for being so open about her choice.

But making the decision to stop breastfeeding altogether is her prerogative. Honestly, I totally understand where she's coming from when she says she was a "slave to the pump."

Bottom line, pumping sucks -- both literally and figuratively speaking.

I'll never forget the exact moment I was forced to break up with my breast pump, because it's what made me ultimately realize that breastfeeding wasn't something that was going to work for me any longer.

It was about 3 a.m. or so, and I was downstairs sitting at the breakfast bar in our kitchen pumping since my rock-hard boobs had woken me up in the middle of the night. And as I sat there topless, strapped to this crazy contraption that made me feel like a dairy cow, I suddenly heard a strange sound. It turned out to be the sound of my breast pump dying -- a pump that had cost between $200 and $300. (And it's not like you can return or exchange those things.)

In that moment, I thought to myself, "What the hell am I doing? This is seriously for the birds. And I'm over it. I want my body back, and my life back."

The next day, I switched my son over to formula and never looked back. And to this day, I don't regret my decision -- and Kristin won't either.

It's her body. It's her baby. And it's her choice. More power to her for refusing to be a slave any longer.

Do you ever feel like your breast pump is taking over your life?
