This mom of two stepped out and left the kiddos at home for a worthy cause. Blake Lively looked gorgeous in her first red carpet appearance since welcoming her second child with her husband, Ryan Reynolds, in late September. The actress appeared chic yet comfortable at L'Oreal's Women of Worth awards in Manhattan. But, seriously, when doesn't Blake look amazing?

It couldn't be easy to leave her almost-2-month-old baby girl and soon-to-be 2-year-old daughter James, but Lively wanted to be on hand to honor women who are truly making a difference.

"It's as important as ever to celebrate women, and that's what we get to do tonight -- we get to celebrate 10 incredible women who are spending their days changing the world," Lively told the press at the event. "The woman who I'm celebrating tonight, Carly [Yoost], has already found 7,500 child predators, 2,500 children she's saved from online pornography of children."

That's a cause that's close to any mom's heart.

In a black dress with sheer sleeves, pockets, and a plunging neckline, Lively looked elegant yet relaxed. Simple sandals, a treat for the feet of any busy mom, kept the look smart yet casual.

Being a mom of two girls, Lively is all about empowering women and leading by example. She told reporters, "In times like this you can curl up and be really depressed about the state of communities that are under-served, or you can set that example for your children."

Good for her for really getting it. It's one thing to preach or complain, but to get out there, "be the change," and celebrate others who are positively impacting the world around them is the perfect way to inspire her young daughters to follow suit.
