Jon Gosselin Claims Kate Won't Tell Him Where Their Special-Needs Son Is

Relationships within this family have been plagued with problems for a while now, but it sounds like things have taken a turn for the worse between these exes. Jon Gosselin says ex-wife Kate won't tell him where their 12-year-old son Collin is. The tween, whom Kate recently revealed has "special needs," is living away from the family while attending school, but the location apparently hasn't been revealed to the dad of eight.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the former reality-star- turned-DJ said that while Kate tells him that Collin, one of the couple's sextuplets, is in a school for special needs kids with behavioral problems, law enforcement officials have told him something different. While Jon says he "has an idea" of where the boy might be, he doesn't know for sure.

So strange. Take a listen:

It's so hard to understand how this relationship has deteriorated to the point that Jon wouldn't know where his own child is. The former Jon & Kate Plus 8 stars are parents to twins Cara and Mady, 16, and sextuplets Aaden, Collin, Joel, Leah, Alexis, and Hannah, 12. While Kate has full legal custody of the children, Jon has partial physical custody. It certainly seems like he should have a right to know where his son is -- and be able to visit the boy, if that's what they both want.

Jon told ET that when he texts Kate to ask where Collin is, she doesn't respond. Though she was always dismissive of her former spouse, this seems like a whole different level. How could you withhold the whereabouts of one of your kids unless you were protecting him from that other parent? But, if that were the case, surely Kate would let the world know it. She hasn't been shy about airing the family's dirty laundry in the past.

Surely, Collin would want to know that his father is thinking of him and knows where he is. It has to be challenging enough for the child to be separated from his siblings.

Kate made the announcement in August that she believed Collin needed a place that could provide him with strategies to cope with his challenges. So, we can't help but wonder why Jon is only speaking out now, three months later?

Maybe more on the whole unfortunate situation will come to light when the show Kate Plus 8 returns to TLC for a full season in January.
