Liv Tyler's Sweet Breastfeeding Selfie Captures a Moment of Gratitude

It's been three weeks since Liv Tyler welcomed her third child, daughter Lula Rose, into the world -- and we can't get enough of their sweet bond. Anyone who follows this mama on Instagram has seen such lovable moments between the two, but this one is truly touching. Liv Tyler breastfeeding her baby girl is so inspirational for so many reasons.

Captured in black and white, Liv's nursing selfie on Instagram beautifully catches a moment in time between mom and baby that, hopefully, they'll be able to enjoy for many months to come.

Sunday morning snuggles with my baby girl. So grateful for this precious gift.

"So grateful for this precious gift."

In a society that dictates motherhood past a certain age and public displays of breastfeeding are taboo, Liv's photo effortlessly tackles both -- and with such grace. At 39, Mom is healthy, happy, and quite fruitful. (Liv and her partner, David Gardner, welcomed son Sailor back in February 2015.)

Maybe Liv never thought sharing a pic like this would make such a wonderful statement. And maybe, the thought actually did cross her mind.

Who knows.

Seeing this photo fills my heart for so many reasons. Aside from the sheer joy I have that Liv -- and any mother for that matter -- gets to love and enjoy her baby, it makes me think about my precious gifts: my 2- and 1-year-old boys.

Unfortunately, I know many women who struggle with infertility and pregnancy complications. (A friend of mine just lost her second child during her third trimester.) Tragedy does not discriminate; it doesn't care about your age, your skin color, or the details of your relationship.

That's what makes motherhood such a blessing -- and having a baby a true miracle. It's not guaranteed, and therefore should be embraced with open arms if you get the chance to do so.

Thank you, Liv, for sharing your touching photo and reminding us to soak in every moment we have with our bundles of joy.
