While the 37-year-old actress is certainly no stranger to being a mother (Katherine and Josh have adopted daughters Naleigh, 7, and Adalaide, 4), this is Katherine's first time being pregnant.

And baby boy makes five!

On her blog, Those Heavenly DaysKatherine revealed she's going to have a sonMom also gave us a glimpse into her journey raising a blended family:

The whole pregnancy thing is new to me, but the thrill of having a baby is not. We’ve known for a while that we wanted to add to our family and frankly didn’t really care how we chose to do that. We were considering adoption again, fostering, or pregnancy if possible. Seeing as I have never been pregnant, and as my OB/GYN reminded me last year, I’m of advanced maternal age, I wasn’t sure pregnancy was even in the cards for us. Turns out it was very much in the cards!

Aww.

I've been a fan of Katherine's since her days on Grey's (Killers and The Ugly Truth are faves of mine, too) and look forward to reading up on her pregnancy journey. Her love for her family and her advocacy for adoption and children's rights are quite inspiring, and make me think about blending my family, too.

Congrats again, Katherine! This is such exciting news for your family. Cheers (you gotta switch to non-alcoholic now) to the many days of morning sickness, being hangry for snacks, and feeling that sweet boy grow inside your belly.
