Jessa Duggar Freaked Out the First Time She Left Spurgeon With Ben

Jessa and Ben SeewaldAt some point, every new mother has the jitters when she leaves her baby for the first time. It's pretty normal and bound to happen -- even if the person watching your kid happens to be their daddy. Leaving Spurgeon with Dad made Jessa (Duggar) Seewald nervous because, like most mamas, you're bound to freak out about all the "what if" scenarios.

No, Jessa wasn't leaving town or anything. During a recent episode of Jill and Jessa: Counting On, the 23-year-old new mom wanted to grab a cup of coffee with her sister Jana and sister-in-law Anna Duggar.

Sounds harmless, right? Well, it was -- except baby Spurgeon was a 6-week-old at the time (he's now 4 months) and had never been away from his mommy.

Yeah, that would make any mother nervous. Thankfully, the house didn't burn down, no one had to call 911, and Jessa got to enjoy coffee with the ladies.

(Score!)

"I had nothing to worry about," Jessa admitted to cameras on Jill and Jessa: Counting On. "Ben had everything under control."

Haha, okay, let's be honest: Who hasn't had a little fear at the thought of their spouse watching their kid? We sure did -- and it's not because our partners aren't competent. While you know things like diaper changes and entertaining the little one will be fine, that doesn't mean you don't start to think about scenarios where baby doesn't want to take the bottle -- because he or she wants Mom's boob -- or starts crying uncontrollably for no reason.

So, yes, Jessa, we've been there, too. And great job on correcting Ben when he referred to himself as a babysitter. As Jessa says, "technically, it's not babysitting if it's your own baby," which is oh so true.

Now that it seems like Jessa and Ben are comfy with the situation, Mom can go out more and enjoy letting her hair down. (Dad too, minus the whole hair thing.)

Teamwork makes the dream work, y'all!
