Jillian Harris Feels Our Pain When It Comes to Unsolicited Pregnancy 'Advice'

'The Bachelorette' star Jillian Harris

The next time you see a pregnant woman and feel the burning urge to tell her what to do, don't. (Seriously, please don't.) There's a pretty good chance the expectant mom already has enough on her plate to deal with. Jillian Harris is tired of the unsolicited pregnancy advice and criticism she's receiving, and she's decided to clap back.

Expecting her first child in August with love Justin Pasutto, the former Bachelorette star and host of HGTV's Love It or List It, Too is losing her patience with people who feel it's okay to judge her decisions -- including choice of drink.

(Why yes, the infamous coffee while pregnant showdown.)

The pregnancy police were out in droves over two Instagram photos Jillian recently posted.

Here's the first that shows Mom-to-be hanging out in a car with a cup of joe.

Pretty harmless, right? Well, if that didn't boil your blood, this Instagram share is what pushed Jillian over the edge.

After reading one too many "OMG, why are you drinking coffee when you're pregnant -- don't you know that's bad for the baby?!" comments, Jillian Harris had to clap back, and she did so in a pretty diplomatic way:

I am no idiot, and obviously know all the do's and don'ts of being pregnant and plan to take very good care of myself and baby!

[On] the topic of caffeine, my doctor has actually recommended a cup or two a day... Yes, I get advice from my doctor!!! Lol. I love coffee and drink a lot of it, so after my morning jolt I switch to decaf, funny in pictures you can't tell if it's decaf or not!

Listen, Jillian is a lot nicer than most women who were constantly bombarded with pregnancy advice. I get that she's a public figure, but that doesn't mean that people automatically have the right to judge or shame her in any way. (Jillian is looking at the advice as coming from a place of love, which is nice ... I guess.)

I can remember when I was pregnant and all the horror stories and slaps on the wrist people tried to give me. Of course it's great to listen to advice that might be useful to your situation, but if the delivery of that advice is more about scolding than sharing, it can get really annoying really fast.

Given today's modern technology -- and how instant communication can be -- let's all remember to taste our words to see if they come from a place of love, or judgment. And, if that doesn't work, we should all continue to live by this:

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
